Mallard Grange Access Statement

A rambling old farmhouse with a winding staircase and creaking floorboards may sound delightful to some, however, we do appreciate that its very character may pose accessibility problems for some guests.  Mallard Grange has Listed status and we have looked sensitively at what we are able to offer with the aim of meeting the needs to all our guests to ensure they have an enjoyable stay.

We look forward to welcoming you, however, if you have any queries or special requirements relating to this Access Statement, please contact Maggie Johnson on 01765 620242.

Getting Here

Mallard Grange is a farmhouse on our working beef, sheep and arable farm, located off the B6265, 3 miles West of Ripon between the entrance to Fountains Abbey Visitor Centre and the turn off for Aldfield Village.  N.B. SatNav's will often misdirect into Aldfield Village, so watch for the farm sign.

Nearest:

  • Bus Station - Ripon, 3 miles

  • Train Station - Harrogate 11 miles

Car Parking

The approach to the farmhouse is down a private farm lane (not tarmacked) leading to a tarmacked area in front of a stone barn.  The parking area has space for 4 guest cars, has a level surface to walk on and is well lit at night.

Entrances

From the car parking area there is a level tarmac surface leading to;

  • The main entrance to the farmhouse is via a metal gate with 3 stone steps down to a  level surface and front door (there is no handrail).

It is possible to drop-off guests and luggage close to the entrance of the ground floor rooms.  We are happy to help with luggage if needed.
